Terrain

Terrain

Scouts Australia uses Scouts | Terrain as the online system where members record their badge work. Scouts use it to track their progress, submit completed badge work, record special interest projects, see their Scouting journey and milestones, and look up the requirements for every badge and award.

Access Scouts | Terrain

For Parents

You can log in to see your child’s progress, help them submit completed badge work, and talk with them about what they’d like to work on next. Looking at Terrain together regularly helps Scouts set goals, see how far they’ve come and stay motivated, while learning to manage their own progress.

How Parents Access Terrain

Parents log in with their child’s membership details:

  1. Go to terrain.scouts.com.au
  2. Log in with your child’s membership number and password
  3. The first-time password is your child’s birth date in YYYY-MM-DD format
  4. If you have more than one child in Scouts, log in as the child you’re helping at the time

Terrain works in any web browser, and you can save it to your device’s home screen for easier access.

Badge Areas

Terrain tracks progress across all the badge areas: Outdoor Adventure Skills (camping, bushcraft, hiking and navigation), STEM & Innovation, Creative Arts, Growth & Development (personal development, leadership and citizenship), and Creating a Better World (community service, environment and global awareness). For more about the skills themselves, see Scouting Skills.
