Volunteering
Meet the Other You
Beyond your everyday role as parent, professional, or partner, there’s another you waiting to be discovered. Volunteering with Bardon Scouts offers a chance to uncover new possibilities, develop skills, and make a lasting impact on young people in your community.
Why Volunteer with Scouts?
Learn New Skills No prior experience required! We provide comprehensive training in leadership, teamwork, outdoor skills, and more. You’ll learn skills such as bushcraft, first aid and youth development.
Get Outdoors Scouting happens outdoors. Camping, hiking, and outdoor adventures are the primary learning settings, promoting both physical and mental wellness while connecting with nature.
Make a Difference Become a role model helping young people develop skills for life and reach their full potential through adventure, community, and leadership experiences.
Volunteer Roles at Bardon Scouts
Section Volunteers Work directly with Joeys, Cubs, Scouts, or Venturers, planning and leading weekly activities and special events.
Adult Supporters Help regularly at your child’s section, attending at least half of the weekly meetings, under the guidance of a trained leader. See Adult Supporters for what’s involved.
Parent Helpers Micro-volunteering opportunities to assist with specific activities, events, or administrative tasks. Help when it suits your schedule.
Committee Members Support the operational side of Bardon Scouts through governance, fundraising, facilities management, and administration.
