Investiture

Investiture

Investiture is the ceremony where your child makes the Scout Promise and is welcomed into Bardon Scout Group. It usually happens a few weeks after your child starts, once they have their uniform. Your child’s Section Leader will arrange the night with you. Please come along: you present your child with their scarf, and there’s time for photos.

What Happens

  1. The section forms up on parade and stands at attention.
  2. The leaders hold the Australian flag, wrapped around a pole, for your child to make their promise on.
  3. Your child repeats the Scout Promise (below) after the leader.
  4. Your child is presented with four badges: the Australian Flag badge, the World Scout badge, the Bardon Group tape and the Taylor Range District badge. Uniforms shows where they go.
  5. You present your child with their scarf.
  6. You have the chance to take photos.

To help other people,
And to live by the Scout Law

  • Use resources wisely.
