Bardon Mayfair

Bardon Scouts was proud to be part of the recent Bardon State School Mayfair, a large community event and the school’s main fundraiser.

A Community Tradition

The Bardon Mayfair is held annually each June at Bardon State School on Simpsons Road. It brings together thousands of families from across Brisbane for a full day of entertainment, markets, food, and fun.

As the P&C Association’s main fundraiser for the year, the Mayfair supports essential school resources including additional teacher aide time, air conditioning upgrades, and technology support.

At the Mayfair

There are market stalls with local crafts, homemade cakes, jams and chutneys, pre-loved clothing and books, and jewellery. Entertainment includes live music through the day, rides for children, sideshow alley and face painting. For food there’s a traditional teahouse with coffee, food trucks, a BBQ and a licensed bar, and a raffle with prizes donated by local businesses.

Bardon Scouts at Mayfair

At this year’s Mayfair, Bardon Scouts ran an information stall about our Joeys, Cubs, Scouts and Venturers sections, with Scout skills demonstrations and photos and stories from recent activities. We spoke with many local families about joining, and enjoyed being part of a big community event in Bardon.
